Special for mootie: my headcannons on @imaginary-grandpa Prime!!
(btw mootie take my opinion as a grain of sand in a dessert cause it's just silly things I thought when rereading the blog jvj- btw like this is one of my fav asks in Tumblr and just wanted to y'know..talk about it and give my mootie support cause they create amazing stuff)
Tumblr media
-based on this ask I hc that Prime curious to what Morty enjoyed started watching Morty's cartoons and even present Morty some that he watched as a kid, maybe gifted comics too (clearly he was talking aboUT Ben 10 so I imagine the Ben 10 comics as some gifts) I also imagine the 2 watching some 2000's CN shows like courage the coward dog (Morty would be TERRIFIED and cling to Prime's arm while he is just vibing eating popcorn) or Codename: Kids Next Door and just make stuff together based on the shows, it became a habit for Prime to gift these to Morty (sometimes even summer IF he feels in the mood)
based on this one I think Summer and Prime have this complicated dynamic, clearly Summer cares for Morty and is protecting her lil brother WHO CLEARLY IS NAIVE (which hey as a easily kidnapable kid, relatable) I imagine in the first weeks or months Summer would be SO ON GUARD and just silently judge Prime and give him looks that she'll jump on him and bite him.
OK this will sound stupid but THIS made me think, hey based on "Tales from the citadel" (rewatched this weekend with my dad and it's A FAV of mine) we know there's variants to universes so there could be a Prime dimension A, B, C etc; what if, Prime just killed the other Primes to a level or just let them fuck off cause y'know, whatever he doesn't care, and in exchange, he goes to this reality that C-137 didn't found due to being an obscure timeline and WAY in the past, this way he'll have a safe reality just like his original in every sense but without wife guy knowing and thinking there's only one Prime dimension, now abandoned. OR I'm just overthinking and the whole ask is BEFORE canon Rick and Morty, literally years before C-137 reached Prime dimension and what we are seeing is an alternate reality he CHOSE to come early to get his leftover shit-- well i'm probably just overthinking but eh, it's fun to imagine shit
I'm focusing more on the image here but my note is: I like to imagine Prime comes over either in the morning when Beth is out and Jerry is well, being jerry, and since morty is really young prob he doesn't go to school yet and wouldn't need to go to a daycare due to jerry being there + Summer, but I think he could come late into the night when Jerry and Beth are asleep and just sound proof the garage, the kids stay up all night with Prime and sleep in the morning/noon. As for the image, I already commented this on a reblog but, Prime actually looks happy in those pictures, which makes me wonder if something happenned between him and diane in the first place on the past, BUT idk if i'm JUST overthinking (look i'm autistic with a hyperfocus, I look for detail onto the tiniest shit ever) but in the one with only him and diane his smile looks a bit unnerving, maybe forced? Anyway clearly Prime got angry when talking of being replaced, or when we bring up Diane, so I'm just guessing he didn't kill her JUST to kill her, something else had to happen.
*cough* I need to actually see this happening in the blog *cough* but it kinda makes me think if Prime even thinks he is toxic in any way cause well, clearly he feels something for these kids and family, remembers stuff with Diane and Beth and doesn't just fuck off, perhaps, just like C-137 he would consider this "irrational"? idk I just like to think Prime every single night after coming back to his place alone runs a hand in his hair and thinks wtf is wrong with him to want to come over again
idk, silly but he made the costumes, Summer helped, he is into crafts but would never admit
just to finish this, SUMMER BULLIES HIM AND JOKES HE IS LIKE A CAT JUST TO GET HIM MAD. IDC, SHE MADE IT ON PURPOSE AND GETS WHAT I'M SAYING.

Æon Flux and the end of all things
I don't remember the first time I heard of Æon Flux but I sure as hell remember the first time I watched it, and it wasn't too long ago which would technically not warrant the level of obsession I have for that shit, but here we are anyway.
I was knocked the fuck out on painkillers, two of my wisdom teeth freshly removed, not even remotely worried about the exam that I had coming up in like two days from then. So I was barely moving away from my swivel chair and sleeping on a whole ass armored pillow to prevent from tossing and turning and shit felt so surreal to me. It was like the eating chair from the last Cronenberg movie. So I delved into Æon Flux essentially blind and bingewatched the shit out of it. Twice. Ended up downloading the whole thing from some sketchy ass 1080p remastered torrent, rewatched it again, and spread it around personally in a more cauterized Google Drive folder (so if you guys got a nasty ass virtual STD from it, my bad I guess), not even a month after watching the series. Shit was fucked, in short, and every rewatch just fueled this obsession even further.

One thing about me: when I obsess over stuff I want to draw something at the very least inspired by it. Happens to me a lot with Autechre, who are actually one of maybe three bands I would not hesitate to call my favourite based on an absolutely objective principle which is absolutely not up for discussion and which might be the object of a future post at this point. But the point is fucking Æon Flux is essentially impossible to replicate because Peter Chung's character designs are so recognizable that you start seeing them in literally every other movie that came out in the late '90s/early 2000s - and for reference, Æon Flux was brought to an end in 1995. Consequently, all attempts at drawing Æon Flux-inspired stuff end up either feeling very derivative or looking like fucking trash. Artistry is a weird thing because sometimes it inspires other people, other times it just inspires man-slaughtering rage.
Somewhat many of my friends are or have at one point tried to be accomplished visual artists. Some have made it to professional/teaching level, some others have an art school diploma or degree - and I'll be using this space to shout out @coto-letta aka V., who has recently rejoined Tumblr after years of absence. We met on here, when her handle was much different, and I mistook her for an ex of mine (whom, surprisingly, we are still on relatively good - if quiet - terms with) so I slid into her DMs as you do, and she was like "yeah actually I have no clue who the fuck you are I just think your blog is neat and dropped a follow" which was quite a fundamental moment in understanding that while my life was written like a dodgy soap-opera, that didn't mean I was the centre of the entire world. Anyway, the reason I'm shouting her out is because sometimes something deeper and older than you remember has a way of finding you again when you least expect it and that's what happened when in January 2023 (after V. had left Tumblr for at that point about two years and we had exchanged Instagram accounts) I somehow ended up on her Insta and found out she had been tagged in a picture taken somewhere that looked suspiciously like my university's conference hall and I could not fucking believe she was in my city. I slid into her DMs again, as you do, and found out that no, that wasn't my uni's aula magna, but yes, she was in fact relocating in my city for her master's. So we met up after maybe seven years of on-and-off Internet friendship. It's a neat story, sure, but how the fuck do we tie it into Æon Flux?
Tumblr media
(image taken from Episode 3, Season 2: Leisure)
Not trying to be overly dramatic here, but Æon Flux to me is just about a condensation of everything that "art" can mean. Not just visual flare or style, not just deep meaning or interesting ways of putting across one or more questions and never a definitive answer to any of them (more often than not, it's sets of possible answers - usually two, neither of which ends up covering the whole array of possibilities, both of which actually leave a lot to be desired in a number of different ways), not just this insane fucking music that toys with everything you expect from animation courtesy of Drew Neumann who may just rank as one of the best soundtrack artists ever in virtue of this single work. It's the whole package. You would think it'd work taken in pieces, and it does, no objection to that: but it works even better as a whole package. If the moral questioning (and the philosophical musings of season 3, which is unjustly underrated because "it's too normal" by hipster wannabe critic dilettantes who like to think that they could do better than that. Everybody else on the other hand is generally able to stop pull their head out their own ass and recognize, at the very least, the excellent craftsmanship and talent that went into the ten long episodes) wasn't accompanied by the weird fetishistic sex it'd be somewhat less impactful, almost like a cauterized Tenshi no tamago made into a series for mainstream late-night TV audiences. The twist was that MTV's executives, at the time, "didn't understand [the double entendres], they didn't even notice them. So, we were okay", in producer Japhet Asher's own words in the short documentary Investigation: The History of Æon Flux. The network was, in fact, trying to break into the mainstream - they simply couldn't keep their creatives at bay. No wonder they turned to Jersey Shore as they went along.

Even just the main characters' purported edginess, clearly something "of its time", is never played entirely straight. Both leads are way too complex, and very clearly presented as such, to be just summed up by "Æon Flux is an anarchist/Trevor Goodchild is a dictator". Both of which are true, by the way, they're just one part of a full picture. Even within the context of its necessary linearity - this is still an animated short and as such moves only in one direction, even though a number of episodes (specifically Mirror and Chronophasia) deliberately fuck with the viewer's perception of times on varying degrees of diegesis and extradiegesis - the series could be perceived as, indeed, a sandbox: consequently, the viewer could set sail and explore it. This is further encouraged by the series's active weirdness to whoever would want to try and make sense of the world's story. There is no history, there is just the story at hand: an eternal present which you can't understand ("un eterno presente che capire non sai": Ferretti knew his shit, regardless of how it went after CCCP) and which Æon and Trevor are not interested in even trying to contextualize. Not a surprise then that they'd be into each other: their closeness in body and heart doesn't exist at the mind's level, and the whole thing falls apart miserably every time it looks like they could be finally let their weapons down. But as Æon completely understands, and as Trevor seems to actively try to ignore, the fight is already the whole point: star-cross'd as they may be, the entire act of playfully hunting each other for sport both in the bedroom and on the battlefield is what Trevor Goodchild and Æon Flux thrive on. Trevor wants stability but an Æon who doesn't fight back is simply not Æon; Æon does not want the stability, but she definitely likes Trevor to an extent and finds more in common with him that she would probably be willing to admit (I would like to thank Tumblr user @brw on thons very good analysis of the episode A Last Time for Everything, which heavily inspired this section of the post!). In short: if Trevor seems to embody Pier Paolo Pasolini's idea that "there is nothing more anarchistic than power" ("non c'è nulla di più anarchico del potere") then Æon flips the statement on its head: "there is nothing more powerful than anarchism". That is, of course, until we once again confront my signature ad-hoc elephant in the room that this statement just summoned.
Tumblr media
(Image taken from Episode 1, Season 1)
No spoilers intended, but if you so much as google the name of the series you will easily find out that Æon Flux dies a whole lot throughout the series*. Season 1 and all the shorts from season 2 end with her dying ungrateful deaths and a couple of the long episodes leave much to be desired in the way of positive closure, with Ether Drift Theory representing a peak in bleakness for season 3. Most of the shorts where Æon dies imply that either absolutely nothing changes in the world around when she's lost or that Trevor Goodchild literally just succeeds in all of his goals (see Season 1's finale), and one could make a case that even if she did carry her missions through there would be absolutely nothing to show for it: somebody goes up the chain of power, everything is restored, there is one more tyrant to murder. Not to be that one guy who quotes Nietzsche about everything, but the eternal recurrence of the same is the first thing that comes to mind when watching Æon Flux, especially exemplified and even literalized by the episode War, possibly the best of the short ones: it's the same fucking story four times over a five-minute run time and nothing ever gets better for anyone. The body count in the episode is unquantifiably large - every one of the fallen a potential new Æon Flux or Trevor Goodchild. But this, in a way, implies that Æon keeps being reborn, and one could argue that the act of capturing a fly with her venus-fly-trap eye could simply be her coming back to life, as it were; stopping the most evident sign of decay, turning her eyes outward yet again, to face the eternal return of the same again and again and again…

You can find Æon Flux for free on the Internet Archive.
*as I was discussing the final draft of this post with my friend @oldshittydog we had a pretty interesting discussion which I thought should be added here for an even clearer, fuller picture:

A Spring Break to Remember
Tumblr media
Derek was eager to leave his cold New England college for somewhere warmer for his spring break. He had just finished his midterms the week prior, and he wanted to get away from the fast-paced nature of university life. Knowing that he and his two friends wanted a getaway, the three planned to fly to Miami for the week.
Upon landing in the airport, he was quick to join his fellow friends in their Uber to the hotel. As they drove past the lush palm trees of southern Florida, the car was filled with excitement.
“You guys ready for the time of your lives?”, said Nate, his green eyes holding back excitement.
“Fuck yeah, babes and beaches here we come!” yelled Derek.
“Who knows what crazy shit we’ll do!” exclaimed Shawn.
The three boys arrived at the hotel and were greeted by the conceirge employee while another helped carry their luggage into the lobby. As Derek checked into the hotel, the other two boys were busy checking out the cute girls in the lobby. Derek chuckled, knowing that he was about to spend the week with any chick he wanted.
After laying their stuff at the suite, the three went by the pool to start their week of misadventures. And while the three were undoubtedly attractive: Nate with his warm eyes and swimmer body; Shawn with his dirty blonde hair and chiseled abs; and Derek with his short brown hair, blue eyes, and athlete body, they undoubtedly rose hell for the hotel staff. Several guests complained of the boys’ catcalling and borderline harassment while they pushed the other male guests away from the pools. The staff considered kicking them out, but old New England money convinced them otherwise.
And in the sidelines was one quiet employee named Peter. Though he hated the boys’ inappropriate and rude attitude, he was drawn to Derek. Though Peter hid his sexuality to avoid heckling from male guests, his eyes were glued to the young, attractive college student. Peter had longed wished to find a boyfriend, but Miami gay culture preferred muscled, attractive, rich men—all checkboxes that he did not fill. Peter wanted Derek though, his heart longed to feel his strong, warm touch.
So while the boys would hit on several women, Peter watched from afar. He tried to maintain some distance, fearful that he couldn’t control himself with Derek around. But while Nate and Shawn were either fucking some gullible lady in their suite, Derek would sometimes just gaze up on the balcony and watch the rolling waves crash onto the sand. And though this left Peter surprised, that a fuckboy like Derek could be introspective, he would only do this for five minutes at most and then went back downstairs to go to a club or something.
Peter knew that Derek had to be his, but he struggled how to approach him. Peter had heard Derek and his friends say homophobic jokes, and he knew that he only had one chance to make Derek his boyfriend. He scoured the Internet for anything: books, weird YouTube videos, Reddit threads. As Peter was about to give up after hours of searching late into the night, he landed on this strange website. It looked like it was from the early 2000s, but Peter chose to trust the sketchy site—after all, he had read testimonials that it seemingly worked.
On Derek and his friends’ last day, Peter knew that he had to play his cards just right. Well aware of the consequences of any failures, Peter convinced his boss to work at the hotel bar to pass out drinks. He offered to pay for Derek’s massage anonymously as Peter knew Derek would loose his guard. As the masseuse worked her magic, Peter offered to give Derek a “complimentary” drink. Derek remained clueless, believing that his father had ordered the surprise massage as part of his hotel package. But as Derek finished his massage and began to drink the iced beverage, he felt a little funny. His vision would flutter, and his muscle movements became increasingly uncoordinated.
“What the fuck is happening to…me”, Derek whispered as he fell into Peter’s arms. Peter, convincing his coworkers that Derek had gotten too drunk, offered to take Derek to his room—in reality, he was taking him to a secluded part of the beach. Though he was heavy, Peter’s heart raced as Derek’s presence was intoxicating to the hotel employee.
As Derek woke up tied to his bed, Peter meekly said:
“Hi Derek, I’m glad you’re awake.”
“What the fuck is this?”, said Derek dazedly.
“Well…this is my way of thanking you and your friends for your lovely stay with us.”
“Thanking us? You have my limbs tied to my fucking bed! I swear to God, I’ll…” yelled Derek as he tried to free himself.
Knowing it wouldn’t take long for him to attract someone’s attention, Peter logged onto the website he found earlier into his phone.
“What the fuck are you showing me?”
“Oh…Derek, can you just look at it? Look at how majestic the spiral moves.”
“What gay shit is this?” squirmed Derek.
“Just relax please, you’re stressing me out.”
“I’m stressing you out?! Look at what you did to me you fucking fa—…”
Peter interrupted Derek by placing his finger over Derek’s soft lips.
“Look at the spiral Derek. You know you want to.”
“You won’t get away this, my friends will come for me”
“Your friends? Those two idiots are too drunk to notice you’re gone.”
Derek again tried to scream for help, but Peter forced his head to look directly into the inviting spiral.
“There you go now, that’s it.”
Derek’s eyes couldn’t resist the deep spiral. It was as his soul was transported to the balcony, his will slowly eroding as the waves crashed down. His eyes remained fixated to the screen, his mouth hung slightly ajar and drooling as he let the spiral consume him. Derek’s squirming stopped, and his muscles relaxed as his breathing became increasingly calmer.
Peter’s dick grew increasingly flaccid. He was turned on by the blank expression of the once annoying college student. He knew that his life was about to change, and that he finally had a boyfriend.
“Derek, now that you’re under my trance. I want you to listen to me, ok?”
“Yes”, mumbled Derek.
“My name is Peter, and I’ll be your master from now on. Do you understand?”
“Yes, Master…”
“Now, I want you to place your trust and love into me. Can you do that?”
“Yes Master”
“From now on, I’ll be your boyfriend and true lover? No one comes before me, alright?”
“Boyfriend…?” questioned Derek.
“Yes, you’re my loving, attentive boyfriend from now on Derek.”
“Yes, I love you…Peter” said Derek smiling as he glanced at Peter’s name tag.
“Now, I want you to tell your friends that you’re going to stay in Miami. You decided to take a gap year here, ok.”
“Yes Master.”
Peter could no longer contain himself as he launched himself into Derek’s strong arms. Derek held him tightly, hugging Peter as if he had not seen his boyfriend for ages. Peter rubbed his hand across Derek’s soft, chiseled muscles as he slowly orgasmed. After twenty minutes of passionate touching and kissing, the two laid on the sand holding each other’s hands. The two stared into each other’s eyes as they began kissing each other once more, their lips sealing each other’s fate to one another.
Derek would tell his confused friends that he no longer wished to return to New England with them. His parents were also confused and threatened to cut him off, but that didn’t matter to him anymore. What mattered now was making his boyfriend, his master happy for as long as he lived. And Peter knew that he could have a warm, hot boyfriend he could rely on. The two would then live their new lives in Miami, striving to live happy, fulfilling lives.

"Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time" game issue
When the game was announced, I was very skeptical and absolutely unenthusiastic about it, because I hated 5 season. It was just a bad fanfiction, which can not be fixed at all and has no reasons and no possibilities to exist. The only thing the authors can do is to appease shippers by creating the full happy ending, where Ashi is alive and lives with Jack in the past. And exactly that happens. Basically how the show would have ended, if 5 season was made in early 2000s on Cartoon Network. The full happy ending for sobbing shippers is the only reason why the game exists. But in this post I'll mention specific problems of the story in this game and some weird moments, which actually had some potential and interesting ideas, which weren't developed at all, hence their existence makes no sense here.
1. The Between-Time pocket. 5 season itself already added various new abilities to Aku and broke the character, the universe, where he exists, and the story makes no sense because of it. Also, this moment below again shows that Aku had perfect chance finally to kill Jack. Like, pierce or crush him now! Why don't you do this?! And why Jack didn't just cut off his fingers?! Brah!
Tumblr media
The game continues this tradition, this path of stupidity. If Aku was able all this time to open the time portal and travel immediately, why he didn't do this in 10 episode of 5 season and didn't kill Jack and Ashi?! Moreover, if Aku himself can travel in time, why he didn't travel to the past and didn't kill both Emperor (during "Birth of Evil" episodes — I don't think that Emperor could defeat the two demons — the newborn one and his experienced and more powerful version from the future) and baby Jack and didn't destory the sword?! Like, there's no time paradoxes for Aku, so he literally could resolve the problem without "help" of any other characters.
Tumblr media
Now Aku can create Between-time pockets with perfect replicas of any being or robot or even location from the real world. Yep, for these, I guess, 5 seconds he creates this time pocket (what's a point of conquering the world, if you can create your own world with lots of amazing locations and habitants?! You're already a literal f*cking god!) and traps Jack here instead of killing him. And for some reason Aku doesn't hide those necklaces with own face, he doesn't try to kill Ashi, who's the only one who can free Jack and return to the time tunnel. WHY?!
Tumblr media
And here's other questions. If Aku created all this from scratch, then what the f*ck was it to create characters friendly to Jack with useful stuff and to create the enemies that Jack has already defeated and now he has experience in it?! Why not give new enemies, thereby creating more problems and difficulties for Jack and playing on surprise and unpredictability? Why not make friendly allies on the contrary creepy and hostile, if "everything is not what it seems" as Aku claims? In the game Aku again had lots of moments, when he could kill Jack. For example, here he could just either pierce him or crush or tear apart or cut in half.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Or here. Why he didn't kill him?!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And he again ignores Ashi and doesn't try to kill her (the perfect chance!), while she tries to free Jack... somehow... being absolutely unexperienced and without knowing how to use these sudden new abilities especially in these conditions... She is still Mary Sue... even being mostly off-screen in this game...
Tumblr media
And WHY didn't Aku just erase this pocket along with Jack?! He created this Between-Time thing, so he easily can destroy everything in this pocket and this pocket itself! He could resolve this problem immediately!
Tumblr media
Tartakovsky and the team again turn Aku into irresponsible idiot... How long can they mock this poor character already? They already disgraced him in 5 season, and it was not enough for them, I guess...
Tumblr media
Seriously, instead of destroying the human brats, due to which Aku is near death, he just plays with Jack and does everything for him to succeed. Ah, badass Wolf from "Puss in boots 2: The last wish", come to Aku and teach him the one important lesson, please. And kick butts of Tartakovsky and the team also.
2. The plot holes. I realized this moment during the recent last playthrough, when I had already collected all 50 kamons. If we take into account that this pocket Between-Time is completely created by Aku (respectively, everything in it is created by Aku magic — from inhabitants to locations), then… WHAT THE HELL ARE THE LOCATIONS AND ENEMIES OF 5 SEASON DOING THERE (from 1-3 and 8 episodes with local enemies — the seven sisters and Lazarus, for example), if Aku DID NOT KNOW about all this in season 5 at all, because he absolutely ignored Jack at all in 5 season?! WHERE is it from here?! And HOW did he know that Ashi had sisters at all?! Damn...
Tumblr media
And since Aku created them for this pocket, why the hell he again got into only Ashi and transformed into a crooked thing only her, and not all seven, so that it would be harder for Jack to fight, and so that he could not know which of them was Ashi, and therefore he'd worried about not hurting her?! Moreover, why he didn't create hundreds of exactly Ashi's replicas to trick and to break Jack morally?! That would make a bit more sense instead of creating plot holes for fan-service.
3. Cheating the emotions with meaningless and unintentionally morbid moments, which repeat the scenes from 5 season, but make them even worse. Sorry, but this plot element, apparently intended to be tragic, actually made me laugh. Like, Jack repeats his lines from 3 episode of 5 season about choosing path and making decisions here, but it makes even less sense. Jack perfectly knows that the Between-Time pocket was created by Aku, hence all inhabitants are not real, but just bland replicas without past and future.
Tumblr media
Why he tries to communicate with the seven sisters and especially with this Ashi in attempts to "make them to reject Aku's path and to choose own path of goodness"? In 5 season it was already quite stupid, because he knew nothing about them, they already in 2 episode stated that they'll chase and attack Jack until either he or/and they die, and they can not choose anything else, because they're brainwashed and they carry out the mother's order on pain of death.
Tumblr media
Then this moment. You know, that's actually not a bad idea. I mean, possibly that could work. Like, if you do anything right and successfully save all Ashi's sisters, exactly after this the true happy ending will be unblocked or whatever. But it could work only if it was alternative time line or travelling to the past (to the beginning of 5 season) or some kind of deadworld void or whatever, where all souls of deads are. In the setting the game chose it doesn't work. Again, all in the pocket is created by Aku, all these locations and habitants are not real, and they probably can not exist beyond the Between-Time. Jack knows that everything here is not real. Then why he so blindly believed to the voice "Save my sisters!"?! Like, he heard only the voice, he didn't see Ashi! He saw her only in the void, in the crevices between those levels Aku for some reason didn't block or seal! Jack had to realize immediately that it isn't the real Ashi, because the real Ashi tried to save only him, and it's just another Aku's prank!
Tumblr media
Then this scene, which copies the scene from 2 episode of 5 season. From one side, again, why he cares about them and their death, if he knows that they're not real? From another side, this scene is cringe, because in 2 episode of 5 season Jack didn't know who are they and that they're humans. Here he knows and was asked to help them instead of killing, but still kinda kills accidentally instead of knocking them out and feels guilt. Why?!
Tumblr media
And now this scene... Like, Jack kills the six sisters and for some reason tries to convince this Between-Time Ashi to become his ally. It is amusing, how he kills her sisters and then just tells her how good and pure-hearted she is... And she for some reason starts to hesitate... Again, the fake replica without past and future for some reason somehow has memories about the ladybug (I don't get it, whether he means the ladybug from her childhood or from this island in ocean in 4 episode) and kinda wants to befriend with this random guy who killed her sisters...
Tumblr media
Thanks, Aku shares my thoughts and just ends this soap opera...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Jack, having fast reaction, for some reason didn't lower the sword... Although, Aku just gently pushed her, not with all the force...
Tumblr media
I can not for the life of me understand, why he cares about this replica, if he knows that she is not real. Like, I could understand, if Jack saw how Aku captures Ashi (another illusion, made by Aku for prank) and therefore thinks that she is among these six replicas and is under the spell and he has to save her and make her remember about their journey again, but no...
At least, this moment was pretty cool. That is what should be in 9 or 10 episode of 5 season. However, as we can see, Aku is a puppetmaster here, he uses her corpse.
Tumblr media
So, again, Jack knows that this "monster-turned" Ashi is not real, that she is dead and that Aku now is inside of her... Why he still refuses to fight and to kill Aku?!
Tumblr media
And of course, the real Ashi somehow knows how to use these abilities and how the Between-Time pocket and its portals work, arrives exactly now to burn the fake Ashi and... for some reason is sure that Jack has to move to the final level with Aku's castle instead of trying to expand the portal so that Jack can get to her as soon as possible and successfully.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why they didn't do this earlier, but only now in the final of the last level?
Tumblr media
And Jack again ignores Da Samurai, Rotty, Scotsman and his daughters, while they helped him in both season 5 and the game...
4. Take two, why Aku died?! Here I already discussed that the ending of 5 season makes zero sense in all aspects and that in the past (or even in the future) Aku after defeating had to become imprisoned in the stone tree again instead of death. Simply saying, 5 season again ruins the canon of the classic seasons. But what we see in the game? Well, after fight Aku from the future for some reason dies and fades away in ashes, at the same time claiming that it's not over as if he just returned to the future... WHY?! Like, Jack just hit him with the sword and nothing more! No piercing in the chest, no burning and cutting him, no absorbing him into the sword or whatever! In the classic seasons Aku was hurted and exhausted even more than here, then what a hell?! If they so wanted to kill this character, why not to think the way of his final defeat through?!
Tumblr media
Why the Between-Time pocket started to collapse and Aku was surprised by this, if he is the one who created this pocket and has to know everything in it?!
The game itself is pretty nostalgic, but if you start to think and to analyze the story... you'll discover the pure madness and your eyes start to roll and blood to boil. And, as I said earlier, this game was created only for this:

Note
Frankly if you asked me, all of that unnecessary misdirection and twists that left poor Tim at the ‘make him angsty and edgier’ block for later writers to force upon him was the result of the whole darker and edgier train that permeated not just the Batbooks but the whole industry throughout the decade he was in.
Basically short, in my honest opinion, Tim Drake was the perfect character at the absolutely wrong time.
The 90s edgier nonsense (as foreshadowed by the marvelous competition’s hefty promotion of Venom, Cable and other like minded antiheroes, Early Image having a foundation built on that) made possible with the Batmania (since he’s naturally the perfect candidate for darker and edgier due to both his gothic aesthetic and his insane popularity) unfortunately gave the writers of that era and the 2000s the impression that since it’s Gotham, things in universe are just miserable and sucky
And since Tim lives in Gotham, despite meant to be the counter to that misery that permeates the city he helps defend, it was only a matter of time before that wrong impression got to him too
It’s why to this day, my preferred Tim Drake is that original Fanboy we saw in A Lonely Place of Dying since in the end, that’s what he’s meant to be, beginner or not and why I am still reluctant to get anything Dixon related on both him and Nightwing since those runs are built on that train of thought that says ‘misery in setting and edgier characters means compelling and mature storytelling, especially in Gotham’
I know, long winded, I just needed to vent. You may ignore this if you wish to
Bro, I just asked #cats what a raw potato tasted like, I don't feel like ignoring much.
And, I wouldn't say Tim was in the wrong time. He has his great successes in the 90s. The main reason he's talked about past people's obsession with one story in Red Robin, that has slowly lost popularity 'cause of people realizing it wasn't the best Tim--is 'cause of the 90s.
There was plenty of people who were sick of the big overexaggerated 90s crap even if it did infest Tim a bit when they'd draw him way buffer than he was clearly meant to be.
It's all just a matter of writers with the ability to do better either not advancing to the right places in comics, or throwing their talents down the toilet to be there.
It's all about good writing. That's it, really, that's the big secret.
Why is Dick a massive joke of a character now? 'Cause the writing got bad.
Why did Batman look like a total maniac more like usual for a while? 'Cause the writing got bad.
Why is Damian totally unrecognizable a lot of the time on nearly every single level for over a decade now(Though I have heard some aspects like art have been getting better, or so I've seen thankfully, but I'm still not trusting that all the way because now this fucking fucking hell)? 'Cause the work got bad.
Why is Jason just a fan fic edgy woobie fuck a lot of the time now? 'Cause the writing got bad.
How did Steph go from edgy, determined, "vigilante vixen", who was morally kinda questionable at times go to acting like a 12-year-old sometimes? 'Cause the writing got bad.
No matter what in the end. It's all down to the writing, and also art.
There's always been good movies in every decade no matter the taste, because people with true talent and knowledge, and know-how where out there to make so happen.
Comics being a dwindling medium that's how a down-turn in quality going on for a long time? It's just not a business worth getting into anymore. Passion or not, people just aren't good writers. And that can happen in any era.
But back to the main point, Tim was at his most popular in the 90s in an era you wouldn't think he'd fit into with all the Rob Liefeld stuff. Like he got an 80-page-giant in the late 90s over some characters you think would actually get one because he was so naturally popular.
But what made him work then isn't dated. It's timeless. They just haven't had good enough writers to make him work, and it sucks, but it's how it is.
The reason Tim really got changed so much isn't down to tastes in an era. It's down to the taste of a few people in specific positions. Things that made Tim work were still working wonders in other places.

My Creepypasta AU That I Like Too Much ft. A Block of Text
It's been four years. Four goddamn years since I came up with this concept. That concept being re-designing and re-writing the creepypasta stories that I grew up with, i.e., Eyeless Jack, Jeff the Killer, Ticci Toby, etc.
It is just now that I know what to do with it, but I don't know how or where to put it. It's difficult to figure all of this stuff out because I've changed so much of it. I've changed last names, personalities, aesthetics, so a name within the fandom doesn't mean the same thing anymore.
I feel like it doesn't belong on fanfiction websites, but it's not my own thing either. I just really hyper fixated on it for many years, taking bits and pieces of information from the first stories and logging it into my really long fanfiction. To the point where it doesn't feel like fanfiction anymore. Has that ever happened?
I don't want to change the names because I love these re-designed characters with these specific names, and I have a hard time with change. It's in my nature. And I also want to express that I love where it came from (but not who it came from, dear god). I love the place and most of the people that are in this fandom because creepypasta people from the late 2000's, early 2010's, are really cool to me.
And I'm very nervous to share what I've made because of experiences in the past with the things I'm really passionate about, because I will sometimes ask stupid questions. At least I've been told they're stupid questions. But I get really invested in the things I really like, and I want to know everything and interact with other people. I'm so desperate to interact with other people and through the things I enjoy is the only way I know how to.
This may be a lot of infodumping, but that's what I'm good at. And we're just getting started. I feel like I should take this blog in the direction of information spilling and infodumping. I changed my name to that and infodumping is practically my love language. I do it to my girlfriend and my family, and if I were to have a group of friends I would also do it to them if they would let me.
ANYWAY, this is about a completely different thing, you're probably not reading this to hear about my social struggles as an autistic (but I will happily infodump about any questions anyone has because autism is a hyper fixation as well), so let's move onto the creepypasta AU stuff, or the title: The Abyss.
The Abyss is a mix of genres. There's a horror aspect, there's comedy (or at least, what I think is funny), there's drama, there's young adult aspects, mature aspects, some romance, there's probably more. It started as an idea for a comic series, and then I realized, I can only draw people and animals. I can't draw backgrounds or architecture. Honestly, I can barely draw a full-bodied person. I've been drawing for a long time, and it's always been living things, so the comic idea was, WOOSH, out the window.
Then I realized that I have been writing fanfiction for seven years and have been told that I'm talented as a writer. Not much of a reader, but I was in grade school, and then I discovered Wattpad in fifth-sixth grade. I write a whole bunch. I wrote a twenty-something page first chapter for a Five Nights at Freddy's universe that I published on AO3, then a month or so later, deleted it because I believed I could do better.
I'm able to write non-fiction pretty effectively, especially when it's topics I enjoy. I wrote a high school essay in my sophomore year about villain archetypes in books and movies and which one was the most realistic to reality. I don't remember the conclusion. I finished the essay a week before it was to be submitted and so I had nothing to do in my English class except twiddle my thumbs.
For this creepypasta AU project in particular, those four years was spent doing various research on race, ethnicity, culture, disabilities, religion, mental health, demonology, and other subjects that would help to make this world and these characters more believable and representative of the world that we live in. Representation is an important factor to me.
I've had multiple experiences with wanting to see my own type of person in what I love, and I know that other people would want to see that too. Especially in creepypasta. A lot of creepypasta is white anime boys.
I was diagnosed with severe Tourette's Syndrome (TS) last year after suffering for a year a with saying things that I didn't mean, or doing things that I couldn't control, and it affected my mental health severely. I couldn't get out of bed and when you act like that, people laugh at you. Sure, it can be funny, some of the things I say or do, but there's a level of anxiety that unrealistically high. Especially when it comes to that Tourettic OCD side of things. When it tells me "You're going to say this" and I have to fight in order to keep words or movements down.
I confided myself in a re-design of Toby. Toby is the problematic Tourettic representation that I had at that point in time. And I hated that. It wasn't problematic for me in the sense that he would swear, or he would do something taboo in front of people. He was problematic for me in the sense that what he had wasn't Tourette's. It was speech impediment. At least, that's how I remember it, correct me if I'm wrong.
If you are a person, you want to be recognized as a person. There are people that are social anxious to the point that they don't want to be perceived, but you still need to treat them with respect. I've always been taught that people will respect you if you respect them. That's not always true, but it's a positive way to live. To think, 'I'm going to respect this person in whatever form their respect looks like.' That could be respecting their religion, their culture, their gender, their sexuality, their form of expression.
Some people may be wrong in the way that they want respect. They could hurt people; they do not respect another person or a group of people. But they deserve respect because they are a human being. If they aren't going to get respect from you, they will get respect from others, that's how it works. If you don't like a politician, don't respect them in the slightest, they are still going to get respect from other people. That's what I mean. You don't have to respect everyone; it is up to you and up to other people who deserves approval.
You don't have to like anyone. For example, the creator of Ticci Toby, Kastoway, does not have my respect. That is my opinion. They don't deserve my respect and support.
That's part of the reason that I re-designed and re-wrote in the first place. I don't like Kastoway. Toby was the first character that I re-designed. I designed him to be my own representation, and then he took over.
Toby has been renamed to: Tobias (Toby) Goldberg (It feels a little strange publishing that name for other people that's not my girlfriend to see). Toby is my personal favorite. Toby is fifteen (15) when the story starts, he has severe Tourette's Syndrome, severe ADHD, OCD, and is autistic. He's the type of autistic that really likes cats and everything to do with cats. Toby is also high-risk to be a pyromaniac, which is an impulse disorder, and he can't be formally diagnosed yet because he's not eighteen (18) years old.
Toby is incredibly tiny for his age (4'9) because of pregnancy complications, underweight because of medication, and he's Jewish-Italian-American. He lives in the Bronx borough of New York City, has a very thick Bronx accent, a mess of freckles, his Italian grandfather thick, too big to fit his face, tortoiseshell-colored glasses, and very thick, curly, shoulder-length red hair that kind of looks like a wolf-cut, but it sticks out all over the place.
I feel like I shouldn't spoil his backstory, but it's very sad and very triggering. Speaking of triggers, there's a whole lot in here because characters need to suffer, but you shouldn't. Take care of your mental health. Mental health is extremely important.
If anyone has any specific triggers I should now about, let me know. This story is both realistic horror and fantastical horror, which basically means there's the fun horror (fantastical horror) and the devastating horror (realistic horror).
If there's any questions about specific characters, or the question 'what atrocities have you done to my favorite character?' comes up, don't worry, just ask me. And if it's a character that I have never heard of, I will do research on the character and maybe your favorite will make an appearance.
Toby's and Cody's (X-Virus) re-designs are maybe the favorites that I have. But now, we move onto the plot of this whole thing. If you've been waiting for the plot, thank you for sticking around!
The plot of The Abyss is very vague, it's more the description of a place. I was originally going to commit to an episodic structure for the comic, but now, if I'm going to be posting this to AO3, then it absolutely has to have a chapter structure. But if I might be posting the chapters only to here, then I might go back to the episodic structure.
The Abyss is about a group, a main cast, of people, featuring Jeffrey, Tim, Brian, Ben, Cody, Toby, and Sally in Book One (five books in total) living in an alternate plane of existence called the Abyssal Plane, or the Abyss, which is ruled over by a demon that they called the Emperor. The Emperor is tall, faceless, and wears the skin of whatever would fool a person the most effectively.
Their job in the Abyss is to provide retribution to those that the Emperor feels deserves it. Retribution means death. Each person has their own style of carrying out their job when they go on missions. We follow each of these main characters throughout their lives and struggles in and outside of the Abyss, so I guess it's also like slice of life in a sense.
The issue I find that I stated before, is that I feel like I've changed the characters too much in order for it to still be considered fanfiction. I fear that no one will be able to recognize these characters, the only thing I have not changed is first name and some design choices. That's why I have labeled it an AU, an alternate universe.
And another thing, I still have some learning to do, especially when it comes to people of whom I do not share experience with. I've done research, but there's only so much research that you can do that is not talking to people of different cultures, different races, different ethnicities, and I am horrible with talking to people. I fake it till I make it.
If anybody has any details with their life that is outside of my experience, I would love to hear about it. I love learning about people, all kinds of people. Even if it's information that I need repeated to me, repetition is important.
Thanks for reading, I would appreciate constructive criticism, feedback, and interaction. This is my favorite thing to do: talk about what I'm passionate about. Please tell me what you're passionate about!

seeing as ive already given my opinions on the entire mario timeline, i may as well do sonic. no, it will not be as in depth. why? because oh my god have you ever tried piecing together the sonic timeline??? dont.
basically, i believe most alternate universes to be canon. and by the way, if its an au i havent enjoyed, im not counting it lmao.
classic games!!!
i like the generations version of things, where the classic games are when they're all younger. i'd say sonic's probably about 12, tails 5, knuckles 13 and amy 11. robotnik can be about mid to late 30s at this point and i cant be bothered with any other characters lmao
and before someone goes 'bit odd that sonic's eye colour changed lmao' ik but like it reminds me of my brother. he had the same colour eyes as me when he was a baby (really dark brown) but now his eyes are hazel (or, as my dad calls it, 'autumn'). i also like how the only reason they specifically chose green was for green hill zone. i think that's really sweet.
i also like to think the OK KO crossover happened about here, if not, very early on in the modern games. maybe sonic underground??? actually, no, i dont think sonic underground could be canon.
modern games!!!
the modern games happen in the order that they happen in. dont ask me about the weird bit. actually, just dont ask at all - nobody knows what to do with this bit. im also counting the idw comics as modern games seeing as they're apparently canon now? yeah idk either.
as for fleetway, archie and any other comics i cant think of, i havent read them, i dont know.
for the ages, generally, sonic's 15, tails 8, all canon ages, yada yada EXCEPT for amy. i dont like amy being 12, so in my head she is 14. i dont even ship sonamy, just the entire thing of her being 12 when sonic is 15 and those two being probably the most canon sonic ship out there that isn't technically canon (STOBOTNIK DOES NOT COUNT JUST IN CASE IN THE FUTURE ITS EVEN MORE EXPLICIT) really makes me feel grossed out.
oh yeah and seeing as he doesnt have a canon age, robotnik is vaguely 40.
post-timeline stuff!!!
this is mostly where actual theory comes into play, because before this point its like, yeah? we knew that? i get that sonic boom is an alternate universe, but i... i like sonic boom. i like it a lot. so it's canon in my eyes. tbf they do all look and act much older, so i'd imagine boom is a future where they're all adults. as of posting this, sticks has only just been made canon, with that mention in frontiers, so if she really does end up in any mainline games, they just happen before this. probably. i dunno, maybe they'll ruin this entire portion.
i think that robotnik is probably late 40s, early 50s by this point, and tbf i think the main cast overall is only rough suggestions, because i could imagine sonic boom happening over the course of a few years. sonic is probably about 19-25, knuckles 19-26, amy 17-24, tails 11-15, and im pretty sure sticks is about knuckles' age canonically? so we'll say she's 19-25.
i get that shadow is 50 and whatnot, probably about 55-60 at this point, but i generally think he's like, a few months older than sonic if we're going based on why we count age (experience and stuff), so probably 19-26, like knuckles.
this is where i think most crossovers take place: mario & sonic, all the weird sega sports games from the late 2000s to mid 2010s (im looking at you, sega all stars tennis/sonic and sega all stars racing (but specifically for the wii (because thats the best version))), stuff like that. with the mario timeline, i said most crossovers aren't canon, but with sonic, anything is possible! because of that, the only crossover than comes to mind that definitely wouldn't be canon is smash, and thats because smash is canonically a kid playing with their toys.
the bit where i lose my mind (aGAIN OMG THIS HAPPENED WITH MARIO)!!!
I AM NOT DOING FULL RAINBOW FOR THAT TITLE OK I CANNOT BE BOTHERED SO YOU GET IT IN PURPLE INSTEAD BECAUSE I LOVE PURPLE.
anyway, this is the bit that couldnt possibly be canon. or hell, maybe it could, the sonic lore is never logical. basically, if you havent read the mario theory, i ended up linking it to undertale, saying that undertale is basically the future of mario, at least for my favourite characters, wario and waluigi. this is like that.
hear me out:
my hero academia?
i'm sorry, but i cant help but think mha is like sonic now. its definitely more of a stretch than undertale and mario, so this one i count as being less reliable, but like... yk how shadow in every tv show has to beat tails to a pulp? shadow is bakugo and tails is deku. as for rouge, rouge is transmasc legend, kirishima. idk who omega is, but tbf he doesnt have a life, so maybe thats why.
and sonic is like all might! and knuckles is like kirishima again! but knuckles can also be iida, if he likes! and amy is uraraka! and i need therapy!
sorry. again. im very sorry. i formally apologise. i could never make this up to you. sorry.

i love that! i‘ve seen scream as a child, probably the first 3 movies, i‘m not sure. but i honestly couldn’t remember much. one day I stumbled upon a billy edit on tiktok and then a buch of scream stuff was on my fyp and with halloween around the corner, it was easy to become invested. i made the mistake of watching one too many edits and also watched scream 6 before rewatching scream 1 so i knew who the ghostfaces were etc. I‘m not a fan of scream 6 at all, i don‘t get how people are obsessed with it. i didn‘t like the second one that much either but it still got the 90‘s/early 2000‘s horror movie vibes which I love. unfortunately it doesn’t quite deliver the same energy as scream 1996. i have yet to rewatch the others and i don’t think i’ve ever seen the fifth one. fun fact: as soon as i saw stu on screen i forgot about billy, don‘t get me wrong billy is GORGEOUS and i adore his character so i totally get why he‘s your comfort character!! i‘m a total stu girlie (i‘m a slvt for goofy psychos can you blame me). i remember how i immediately sensed the homoerotic vibes from stuilly and honestly i can’t remember the last time i developed this big of an obsession over a movie or a ship. reading debaser made it SO much worse. also a huge fan of horror movies and true crime, always have been. i’m someone who tends to lose interest quite quickly but it really depends on how much i love the hyperfixation. i feel like this one is gonna last. what‘s your favourite thing about billy or the trait you associate yourself most with? if this is too personal, just ignore it!
I'm glad that the spooky season brought you back into Scream at full blast ! i feel the same about Scream 6, it's not giving "Scream" at all more like shitty netflix teen movie, imo. I don't like the 90% of the cast either. The original trilogy holds that late 90's/ early 2000's and i'm very fond of that but yeah, the vibes from the first one are unmatchable. It's simply a perfect movie 🖤 Oh, i get you. I definitely have a big fat crush on Stu, he's the one i'm in love with from the duo, lol. Billy gives me the gender envy and the "oh god i wanna be you" feeling. I'm so glad that Matthew decided to play another role of a psycho twink one year before Scream (I'm talking about Animal Room 1995, you should definitely watch that movie. People label it as bad but i love that one so much.) This is one of the biggest ship obsessions i've ever had and TRUST ME i've had A LOT ... I think Stuilly fits all the vibes and tropes that i'm down bad for when it comes to shipping. So you're a fellow Debaser fan ? (I think we all are at this point. I mean. It's so fucking good) Debaser altered my brain chemistry even if i already had some sort of uhm...Stuilly universe-plot thing ? that i was (and i'm still obsessed with) If you're reading the sequel, Wave of Mutilation i hope you're doing okay and i'm sending you emotional support lmao. And don't worry about the question, isn't really that personal! It's okay. I struggle a lot with abandonment issues and i agree on the part that going thru abandonment can really mess up your brain, for example: fear of attachment, fear of allowing yourself to enjoy things because you feel like they're never going to last, etc. also the struggle of "playing an act" all the time. I feel more relaxed around my close friends but besides that i'm a stiff mf. I already mentioned this in my last reply but the whole horror obsession and quoting things from movies is a thing that makes me relate to him on a high level. Like, when he's with Sidney in Stu's parents room and she's talking about her mother Billy tries to """"relate"""" to her experience by mentioning Clarice's backstory from SOTL. I do that a lot, i'm always like "Yeah, this is like this thing that happens in that movie" and then i feel so self-conscious about it. Since you've mentioned that you've read Debaser, well that answers your question. One of the things that shocked me the most about it is that Billy and I we share a very similar inner monologue when it comes to feelings, fears, frustrations... etc. That and being an angsty homo who likes Radiohead. L o L. If you've read Wave of Mutilation all the chapters who are written in Billy's POV hit really really close to home to me. So yeah, there isn't an specific trait but that's most of the stuff that makes me relate to him. But i'm trying to be less angsty, i swear haha. I think that Billy is the kind of person who gets sassy when someone tries to be a smart-ass about horror (Randy type of person) and he's just like, proving that they're wrong. My boy knows his movies. This is already a long ass reply but we're almost done. It's so cool that you're into horror as well, it's nice to see that people who like Scream are also interested in horror overall. I'm not into true crime in "that way" but i always liked to listen to true crime podcasts and similar stuff because i find some cases interesting. I've seen many movies based on real events and real serial killers, (some bad, some really good) and a few documentaries. Thanks for the asks again, it's fun to ramble since i don't have many chances to ramble this much about this whole thing :)

Manic and Panic headcannons (+Puppet)
I am in a Dawko craze rn so I'm making headcannons for a 2-3ish year old pilot
General things
Darkest desire 2 never happened
The year is around the 1990's to early 2000's
The location would be FNAF 1 then go to FNAF 2
there are versions of CG5, DAgames and DHeusta (who'll probably make some minor appearances)
this universe is connected to FNAF The Musical's universe but now Matt is just a higher up employee, Mark is also night guard and Nate is a a partial technician, composer and night guard.
Manic/Dawktrap
he is still partially in Glitchtrap's control but he has moments where he isn't
he doesn't care if he's called either Manic or Dawktrap
he is the most "American" character
he'll whistle and hum darkest desire
he is very unpredictable
if his eyes are more pink in color, he's under the influence of glitchtrap (+he will probably get more violent)
and if his eyes are more blue, he old conscious has more control
he's a silly, goofy and stabby guy
he is also very bad socially (and if there's some point where him and Panic get along....he would be the most awkward person)
he loves checking the animatronics and how they work
he is kind of like a well-known guy in Freddy's (with the other employees)
has an odd fondness for Panic ("this guy is hard to kill, wonder why?") but he loves harassing him
(inspiration by someone's headcannon) anytime he goes past a camera, he and the camera glitches
if he is strong enough in the moment, he can mind control others
^Now I realize he reminds me of Hyde from The Glass Scientists^
Panic / Nightguard Dawko
His name is Lou but Manic would call him Panic and now other people call him that know (he's to nervous to correct anyone)
deathly afraid of Manic (would take everything to be friends with him in the possible redemption arc)
he is horrible in social situations but somehow is friends with CG, DA and DH
he's a very weak spirited person
he's skiddish and has a shit ton of anxiety bc of Manic
he's actually the taller of the two (6'2 / Dawko's height)
best reflexes in the entire cast (lmao)
as a kid, he had dreamed of becoming a preformer and a singer ^ (little showtime Dawko ref)
^ he obviously didn't achieve it but he does try to write songs with his friends as a side hobby
he has a really shitty therapist (who Manic secretly k!lls at some point)
he is the most competent security guard but also kinda is the worst
Poopet / Puppet Dawko
(yes I know he isn't part of the pilot but he is part of this au)
He is an alternate and more humanoid version of the puppet animatronic
He isn't possessed but partially programmed by the og puppet
He doesn't talk but does know sign language
he has a Freddy plushie in his box (the plush is unknowingly possessed by 8-Bit Ryan)
He enjoys watching the employees after hours
he works better with children bc of the more humanoid design
the song for the music box is a version of Like it or not
his is 6'8 (not most people know bc he is usually sitting inside of his box)
he/they pronouns
he will always protect people in need
Relationships or just general stuff w/ the major and minor cast members
1. Manic and Panic
Panic is very afraid of Manic and thinks of him as a horrible and creepy thing
While Manic is very intrigued by the sheer luck and cowardice Panic has. But also wants to kill him
Will this become an eventual friendship...idk
2. M&P with the Puppet
Manic absolutely hates Poopet (he gave him the nickname), he hates that they always get in the way and keep protecting Panic
Puppet almost equally hates Dawktrap, they know he is a murderer and is trying to harm innocent people
Panic used to be scared of Puppet before he realized that they would protect him, and now they're friends
3. Manic with the others
Manic doesnt have an opinion with Panic's friends other than that they would be fun to harass or control. But, CG, DA and DH all hate him for trying to kill their friend and causing a lot of his mental health issues.
Manic finds Matt interesting with all of his conspiracy theories about the restaurant chain and that he has a pretty interesting backstory to hear (and vice versa).
Manic wants to kill Mark so bad but he won't yet
Manic finds Nate fun (that's it)
4. Panic with the others
He absoluetly loves his friend group and they love him too
Panic and Matt are also good friends and tney love to discuss theories but bc if their roles, they don't have time too see each other.
Panic is also good acquaintances with Mark, they like hanging out with Matt
Panic kinda admirers Nate for his music but he's to afraid to talk to him about it

The Story of Us-Chapter 8
Tumblr media
A/N: This is a rewrite of a story my good friend @spnbaby-67 allowed me to take and rewrite. All mistakes are mine. This is canon divergent, meaning some things that happened in the show will still happen here but with my own twist to it.
Summary: She and Dean met when they were kids. Even at such a young age, she knew that he was her soulmate. Being the daughter of a hunter, Michaela (Micki) Singer knew the life he led came with a price, but she was up to the challenge.
Pairings: Dean Winchester/reader, Sam Winchester/friend!reader, John Winchester, Mary Winchester (mentioned only), Bobby Singer, and more from the Supernatural universe.
Warnings: Flashbacks are in italics, fluffy stuff, angst stuff, character death, kidnapping, depression, semi-dark themes
WC: 1,556
Winter (early February) 2000
It's been a little over 2 years since Micki had broken up with Dean and after he and his dad left,  she never saw or heard from him.
She hadn't really meant to break up with him; had said it was over out of anger but he'd been gone before she had a chance to apologize. And he never called nor returned to Sioux Falls.
At graduation, her dad had been the only one there to clap and cheer for her. Dean had swore he'd be there and be her loudest supporter. But alas when the time came, he was nowhere around.
She couldn't really blame him though as she'd never reached out to him either. She'd just been so pissed at him first for blaming her for the pregnancy scare and secondly for just shrugging it off, pledging to do better; to always wear a condom.
That wasn't the point and she had hoped he would understand just how great of a mistake they had made. But he just acted as if it was no big deal. It was, to her!
Now, she is a graduate of Sioux Falls High and instead of heading off to college as her Dad had suggested,  Micki had opted to stay back and man the multiple phone lines her dad had.
She was the secretary for the FBI, the police and the CIA but she also answered the calls that came in for her dad about handling monsters and demons.
A few of the hunters that have called in end up showing up on their doorstep and Micki begins getting to know one in particular, Steve Franklin. Steve was a little bit older than Micki but had been privy of monsters and demons for much longer.
He was chasing a monster that had taken out a whole family in a couple states over. It was the first time Steve had run across anything like it, so he called Bobby and showed up with the evidence to pore over the lore books.
He and Micki hit it off and before he left to go take care of what they had learned was a rugaru, he'd asked her out.
Steve and Micki had dinner at the local diner in town and then went to the movie theater to watch X-men. They ended up in Bobby's driveway, liplocked and quickly rounding second base.
The only thing stopping them was headlights shining through the windshield and the driver's side door opening before Steve got jerked out of his seat.
Micki scrambled out the still open car door to see what was going on. What she sees in front of her equally baffles her and enrages her. Dean fucking Winchester is slamming his fist into Steve's face.
"Goddammit Dean!" she yells. "Stop!"
He lands one more punch to Steve's bloodied face before he lets go of the other man's color, making Steve fall to the ground.
"What the fuck Mick?" Dean says, stalking across the gravel toward her. "You just out slutting it up with every Tom, Dick and Harry?"
The slap echoes as Dean's head whips to the left. He is stunned into silence.
"Listen here you asshole! It's none of your goddamn business what I've been doing. We-" Micki gestures between them. "-broke up and you left. I haven't heard from you in two fucking years! How dare you come back here and call me a slut! I hate you!"
The tears are streaming down her face, ruining the makeup she'd spent two hours on, her chest is heaving with anger and she grits her teeth so hard her jaw begins to hurt.
"What the hell are you doing here anyway?"
Before Dean can answer, the screen door screeches and her father steps out  with a rifle poised to shoot. He looks at the scene before him. Micki's tear-stained red face, Dean's remorseful expression and Steve still on the ground, groaning in pain.
"I heard shouting," he explains as he decocks the gun and lowers it. "What the hell is going on?!"
While Bobby is helping Steve to get cleaned up and out the door, Micki and Dean sit at the kitchen table; Micki still seething and Dean penitent. Neither of them say a word as Bobby ushers Steve out of the house and to his car before he comes back in, “What in the world is going on with you two idjits?”
They both start speaking at the same time. “He ruined my date!” “She was practically fucking that guy right out there!”
Bobby holds his hand up to silence them. He shakes his head and turns to click the coffee pot on. It’s too late (or too early) to be dealing with this shit. As soon as the water starts percolating, he turns back to the two lovebirds.
“Dean,” he sighs as he runs a hand down his face. “You broke my little girl’s heart. That right there gives me every right to shoot you full of holes. And Mick, honey. I know he hurt you and left but did you even give him a chance to talk before you laid into him?”
Micki had ultimately had to tell her dad about the pregnancy scare and that she had broken up with Dean. It’d broken Bobby’s heart hearing that she had gone through that alone and hadn’t come to him. Did he think she was too young at that time to have a baby? Damn straight! Hell, she’s still too young in his eyes but what was done was done and he would’ve loved the child immensely, if there had been one.
“Dad,” Micki whined. “He had no right to pull Steve out of his truck and wail on him like he did. I’m not his property!”
Both men looked at the grown woman sitting there grumbling like a petulant child.
“She was…she…they….ugh!” Dean tries to defend his actions but he knows he was in the wrong and there is really no justification for his behavior, other than that he was extremely jealous. “I’m sorry. I just….I pulled up and saw them getting hot and heavy and I just…I went into a rage okay?” He turns to Micki to look her dead-on. “ Don't you get it Michaela? I got pissed because I.....I love you."
Micki is shocked at his confession. He had never uttered those three words to her. In all the years they were together, even when she said them, he never repeated them back to her.
And now, two years after they break up, he says he loves her?! He willingly and freely admitted he does actually have a heart that feels?
She can't help but to think it's just a ploy to get laid though. Was he out there striking out and thought she'd be an easy target if he told her he loved her?
Or had he finally grown a pair and was ready to admit his feelings?

PRESENT DAY (2008)
Dean shushes and utters loving words to  Micki as he wipes the tears from her face.
"Baby, whatever it is, we can get through it if you wake up," he whispers as he rocks her listless body. "I need you to wake up honey. We need you. Please babe, show me those beautiful eyes, so full of love and adoration."
After a few minutes, Micki seems to calm down and no more tears escape her closed eyes. Dean settles her back into her spot and arranges himself around her, pulling her head onto his chest, like she had slept so many nights before he went to Hell.
He closes his eyes and immediately his mind starts pulsing with flashbacks of eerie screams and flickers of his bruised and bloody body hanging midair by chains and hooks in his skin.
He opens his eyes wide and stares at the ceiling of their shared bedroom, trying to calm his racing heart and toxic self-hatred.
The only thing that brings him to the present is movement to his side before his
daughter makes her presence known.
Dean slides out from under Micki and sits up to see Maren awake and cooing, kicking her little legs.
"Hello beautiful. Did you have a nice nap, my love?"
Dean picks his little girl up, cradling her in his arms as he sits back onto the mattress against the headboard.
"Your mom is Superwoman," he tells the baby in his arms. "She is so good and pure and honorable. She's too good for your old man, I tell you that."
Dean looks down at the comatose woman beside him. He loves her so much, they've been through a lot of shit together and she always amazed him with her resiliency, the way she could bounce back from whatever crummy and atrocious situation the couple found themselves in..
"I'm not worthy of her love and loyalty. I'm nothing but a grunt, a lowly peon," Dean admits as he looks from the first love of his life to the newest one. "She is the phenomenon, a one in a million natural. And I hope you grow up to be just like her, Maren Jade Winchester."
"That name has a nice ring to it," Dean hears before looking up from his little girl's gorgeous face.

I've somehow reached a point where I want queer representation in media so badly that I started literally dreaming about it... just to then wake up and be disappointed that the stuff I dreamed about doesn't actually exist.
So who wants to hear about my weird dreams? Don't care I'm rambling anyways.
Dream number one was a shounen anime about sky pirates fighting against a corrupt government (because I can't stop thinking about revolution even in my sleep). In it the protagonist's silent cool rival looked to be this very large, very beefy woman, with a tattooed arms and a massive fuck off sword.
Turns out HE was a trans man and the tattoos were actually magical HRT runes. In the dream the only people to misgender him were either the villains or occasionally some people who didn't know him, but those were quick to correct themselves. The entire main cast saw him as a man and would actually correct other people when they got it wrong, and get pissed off at the villains for insisting on that bullshit.
He was also very protective of female characters since he's fully aware of the oppression they suffered, since he was raised under the same nonsense.
~~~
Dream number two was also an anime (yes yes I'm a weeb, we all know that), this time an early 2000s style slice of life romcom anime. It was a coming of age story about the diverse cast figuring out stuff about gender, sexuality, and just dealing with the fact that sexual attraction was a thing now, and how overwhelming all this stuff can be.
It did feature some of those generic ecchi anime moments of like accidentally grabbing someone's boob and stuff like that. Except every time one of those things happened it was followed by the character's involved going through a small journey of self discovery... or vehemently refusing to go through one.
The primary conflict for that story was about this deeply closeted lesbian and this deeply closeted trans woman, and a lot of the jokes came from how hard they tried to deny their feelings and how bad they were at it.
"I can't be a lesbian. I'm into this one guy... even tho that only started after I saw him in a cute dress"
"I can't be a girl. I already like girls, and I can't do both, right?"
That level of nonsense. It was pretty silly and fun, and it was nice having two side characters acting as audience surrogates just shaking their heads and waiting for those two to come out already.
~~~
And dream number three was... not an anime! Shocking I know.
It was actually an objective based third person coop action game. One of those games where you and a few friends pick characters and then yell at each other over discord as you fail to finish a mission together.
This one had a bit of a Heroes of the Storm/Super Smash Bros vibe to it, in that it was a sort of crossover thing of characters from multiple universes being brought together for...reasons.
So far so generic, but here's where things get fun. I was maining a Lich character (to the surprise of no one who knows me) and at some point I opened their customization menu. It had all the generic cosmetic items you'd expect, but it also had a gender select menu.
It first I was very annoyed, because I couldn't believe they gave weird gender dimorphism to a fucking skeleton, with one character model having broad shoulders, while the other had an hourglass figure.
And that's when I saw an "advanced options" button. Apparently that game let you mix and match gender signifiers to mess around with your character's gender presentation.
I may have spent the rest of the dream just fucking around with that until I got a design I liked and proceeded to kick ass with the power of TRANS RIGHTS!
...so yeah. I've been having A LOT of dreams about this stuff, and I'm high key annoyed none of this shit is real. Well, now you can be annoyed with me too.

Pick a show that sounds interesting and start watching.
Way more details under the cut
The Original Series (60s) and The Next Generation (80s-90s) are the first two: both are about a ship Going Boldly and finding weird space stuff. Either are good places to start. Both are dated, TNG less so. There's remastered editions with new special effects available if the old special effects are too much to hear.
Deep Space Nine (90s) is about a space station instead. It's got a lot of politics early on, and it turns into a war story by the end.
Voyager (90s) is about a ship trapped on the uncharted far side of the galaxy, trying to get home. Takes a while to find it's feet but has plenty of good episodes.
Enterprise (2000s) is a prequel, going back to before Kirk. It had a lot of problems but still has its fans. I would definitely not recommend this one as your first: the prequel nature means you'll miss a lot of references. It does have a neat thing: the entire third season is one storyline, about tracking down an alien plot to blow up the earth.
Discovery (2010s-2020s): this one is set during the original series, then jumps ahead to the future. It's about a historical Star Trek war, some Mirror Universe (an alternate universe full of EVIL PEOPLE with EVIL BEARDS) shenanigans, the first canonically gay character in Trek, several cameos from characters from the Original Series, but played by new actors because it's been 50 years. Another one that's not great to start with: too much continuity you won't understand. But if the other shows are too dated for you, they do explain enough that you'll get the gist.
Picard (2020s): The captain from The Next Generation comes back, goes on several adventures, we learn what happened to a bunch of TNG characters, and there's a big reunion. You shouldn't watch this until you've seen TNG.
Lower Decks (2020s): an animated comedy about some of the lower-ranked workers on the Star Ship . Definitely worth watching but its full of continuity jokes so I don't know how well it'd work if you're new to Trek.
Prodigy (2020s): an animated series aimed at a young-adult audience. Some aliens learn about The Federation (the Good Guys in Star Trek) and decide to escape to it, aided by a holographic version of the captain from Voyager. It has continuity stuff but since they expect to have a younger audience, they don't depend on them. It's fine to watch first, but it's a little different from standard Trek, so it's maybe not the best introduction.
Strange New Worlds (2020s): The adventures of the ship from The Original Series before Kirk was in charge, a Discovery spinoff. The continuity is complicated and while this has my favorite episode of the new shows (A FUCKING MUSICAL!), it's probably a terrible place to start.
That's all of them, minus some made for TV movies, the made for theaters movies, and The Animated Series.
The made for TV movies are all in the Discovery/Strange New Worlds continuity. You don't want to start with those.
The theatrical movies are set in the TOS continuity(for the first 6 movies) and then the TNG continuity (Generations through Nemesis), then the last three are in the Kelvin timeline: a reboot of The Original Series.
The Animated Series is just The Original Series but as a cartoon. Watch it if you want after TOS.
If you want to start with a movie, watch the 2009 movie called just "Star Trek". It's fine, and it gives you something of an idea of the characters. Neither the TOS or TNG movies are good starting points.
Anyway tl:dr let me give you some actual advice:
Pick one of The Original Series, The Next Generation, or Voyager, based on if you feel like 60s, 80s, or 90s scifi. Watch the first episode. (That's "The Man Trap" for TOS, "Encounter at Farpoint" for TNG, and "Caretaker" for VOY)
If you like it, great! Start watching the first season of whatever show it is, but maybe check a wiki or fan guide to know what episodes to skip. Star Trek pretty consistently has a very mixed-quality first season, so there's often a bunch of stinkers early on to scare you off.
If you don't like it, you have two options:
1. If you don't like the characters or the setting, try a different show
2. If you like the characters but hated the story, maybe look up "top 10 episodes for star Trek SERIESNAME". Pre-2010s they had very little continuity between episodes, so once you've seen the pilot you can watch just about any episode. Worst case, one character might have been swapped out for another as the cast wasn't fully static.
So yeah. I hope you know what you were getting into when you asked an autistic Trek nerd about which Trek to watch.
(Personally I started with TNG, watched a few TOS episodes, then watched Voyager, went back to DS9, watched most of Enterprise, and a few episodes of Strange New Worlds.)

My thoughts on a commonly used term when discussing kids cartoons.
One thing that often frustrates me about the argument "it's a kids show" when discussing the contents of a children show is that they don't think about why that term exists. Most kids shows back then got a somewhat fair amount of slack on criticism for a reason. A lot of it was because of the shows goals on what it wanted to be in service of.
Shows in the 80s had the purpose of action and fun, simple characters in order to sell merchandise (transformers, mlp g1). More shows back in the 90s/early 2000s had the goal on making its audience laugh or entertain if anything. Shows like dexters lab, Kim possible, spongebob or my life as a teenage robot were selling themselves on their gags or action rather than complex themes or drama. It might be fun to joke that spongebob was about communism and workers rights and shit, but we know that wasn't the creators or writers goals. So audiences tend to be gentler on criticism. And it's not like people never critic anything these shows produce. A lot of shows here dabbled or even went hogwild with homophobic, transphobic, misogynistic and sometimes even racist jokes.
If there were shows to teach lessons, they were relatively simple like ("sharing is a good thing", "don't make fun of children with 'weird habits'", ect..) in shows like Recess or Hey Arnold. Even then a lot of the "lesson" shows were set in world's with very low stakes, which was the real world in 90% of them. Many of the more dramatic kids shows weren't really high stakes, big action pieces. They were mostly mellow if anything. And they did get criticised as well.
This was probably what made avatar the last airbender so unforgettable to its young audience. It mainly had the premise and characters of your typical Saturday kids action series. Protagonist with a superpower, lots of fighting, a team of underdog kids fighting a big bad empire. It's premise was pretty trite and already flooded the cartoon market. But it was special at the time for exploring topics such as war, trauma and abuse in a way that was fun, respectful and most of all, easy for a younger audience to understand without being too overbearing with the topic. What made avatar work well for itself is that it treated the severity of most of these topics differently than the simple lesson programs at the time. Forgiving the person who personally bullied you in 1st grade is not the same as forgiving the man who caused you to see your mothers murdered corpse actually!!! The writers in avatar realised that if your gonna explore these kinds of themes in a world with larger stakes which include severe child abuse, war, trauma and mass genocide, you can't treat the people causing this as some cartoonist henchman or shitty little kid in the playground. You can give some of these characters sympathetic moments or explain the circumstances of how they were like this (azula, zuko), but you can't forget about what happened. At least you can't immediately as soon as they become the "good guy". Sadly the writers in atla seem to forget a lot of this information judging by their other shows such as lok or the dragon Prince.
I mention all this to explain why the "it's a kids show" doesn't apply as well to certain modern kids shows. Some of these shows are trying to cover pretty heavy topics such as abuse, imperialism and coloniasm, war, human experimentation and a whole list of rather dark concepts. And more so they are trying to teach lessons about them. But the creators want to have a "dark, angsty scene where the characters cry at the hands/actions of their colonizers/abusers" scene, but they don't want to actually think about how these atrocities affect the decision making of our horribly traumatised protagonists. Or how it would affect their feelings towards the antagonist. Writers usually only care about how the villain is going to get their redemption arc. And it's not like its inheritably bad that you give your antagonist a redemption story (though there's a limit to how far you can go depending on what they did). But when you give your antagonist 2 hours screentime about whatever angsty backstory you slapped onto them, and then you either completely ignore the pain and psychological state of your protagonists friends and even harshly criticise them for being angry and unforgiving at the antagonist for the miniscule actions of... Psychological or physical torture of you or loved ones, repeated attempted murder, mass genocide.... What I'm trying to say is that your message of empathising with the people around you falls a little flat in its face.
Subject matter and tone will heavily change how your audience perceives your theme.
This is why nobody complained about Dr Doofenshmirtz' rehabilitation. He was in a pure comedy show mainly focused on humour in which his eeevvviiiilllll plans includes ludicrous shit like ridding the world of mustaches cause he can't grow one. Absurd stuff. He ain't ozai or even azula. He didn't genocide a race of people, mutilate his kid and waged war against the world. He didn't travel around universes, pillaging cities or attempted to destroy the whole universe cause they were mad at one person. Stuff like that changes audience perception. He was so harmless for that his "arch nemises" often took his sweet time stopping and even indulged his ridiculous schemes.
This is why I don't criticise shows like she ra the same way I criticise kids programs like miraculous ladybug or the fucking winx club. The winx club has the rare emotional scene, but it's mostly a show about 6 fairy friends defeating a dully coloured comic book supervillain. It's conflicts are mostly simple and straightforward and it's purpose is to entertain children (and sell cheaply made plastic dolls). She ra as shown in its tone within the cartoon and by the creators intentions on twitter is different. It's clearly trying hard to explore themes of child abuse, war and imperialism. Its the font line topic of the show. And when exploring heavy themes such as this for a audience of children, you have to be careful. Because handling them poorly might have a chance of sending a wrong or muddled message to kids.
This is why the term "it's a kids show" isn't universal.

it’s time to talk.
hi, hello
i usually don't do stuff like that, because i prefer to exclude politics and real life problems from my "funny haha" hobbies, but, you know, sometimes things ought to change
i'm from russia and i would like to add my miniscule and insignificant word to the boiling pot of the current situation
i hate it.
i hate the war, i hate the government, i hate how it treats us, them and the world itself; i also hate the world, because its reaction to the actions of our government was to blame and punish our people, to punish those who can do nothing
the argument that i hear too often is —
russian people didn't do anything to stop this.
i'm sorry, but the truth is — we couldn't do anything
i remember growing up in early 2000's and hearing about wars that were far, but somewhat close to me and my country — Afghanistan war, Macedonian insurgency, Chechen wars, Yugoslav wars and thing like that
back then it seemed so... ephemeral, while this things were happening, i thought it's become history already; it was weird and scary, but somehow i felt safe — because we had the president who was fun, and fair, and brave, and strong, and he would protect us, and be good to us, no matter what
but then i grew up.
said president made laws, made strange arrangements, made people upset; but still, he was riding a horse shirtless and he was gifting other government officials big fluffy cats, and it all seemed fine
but i was 19 years old by this point, and we still had the same president, and he was getting older, and our country's reputation was getting worse
when you're saying that russian people should've protested against him, you don't really understand what that means to us: we protested, we tried, we were angry and we were speaking up for the last eight years and it all lead to nothing; russia is a big country and it has no shortage of prisons — and they can fill it up pretty quickly
if a police officer kills someone in usa, they will be judged, prosecuted, fired and imprisoned, probably; if a police officer kills someone in russia, they will be slapped on their wrist and maybe, just maybe, fired
when you have a president who used to be a part of KGB, you know that national guard and police will be at his side — and their actions won't have any consequence for them
we can't just go out on the streets and protest because we will be beaten up and our voices won't be heard; i have several friends who used to be very active during 2016-2018, but they were punished for their activities and now they are just extremely apathetic citizens who want to have nothing with politics — they just want to live their lives, they want to see their old years
our older generation has adopted the policy of "we lived through even worse times"; they won't take action, because they think that it's fine, everything will come back to normal, as usual, and we just need to wait patiently and keep our heads close to the ground; we lived through something similar starting from 1920's to 1950′s, and now it’s back in 2022, amazing.
also, my mother won't allow me to go out on the days of mass protests these days, and i am 24
i work at one of the oldest universities in the country, and my bosses make me go through students social network accounts to make sure said students won't spread "dangerous and unwanted" information; students who post something "bad" will be invited to a talk, during which they would discover an unpaid debt or something what will get them expelled — unless they rethink their actions; professors and other staff will be fired without said talk; luckily for them, i'm not a snitch, but that doesn't mean much, because there are forces beyond me
but "other side" isn't all fluff and sparkles either
what is that cancer patients did to europe, so its doctors won't treat sick kids? what is wrong with works of writers who have been dead for ages and, in fact, were sent to prison, because they were against their-time-government? what is the fault of students who just want to study and have a semblance of a somewhat bright future? why would meta allow to harass other people, because of their nationality (i do not support the actions of our military, but i still think it was a very questionable decision on instagram part)?
tell me, why there wasn't the same amount of backlash during Vietnam war or war in Afghanistan that lasted for the last 20 years or Yugoslavian "humanitarian aid" or during recent withdraw of usa army from Syria?
i'm tired; sure, my house isn't bombed (although i was evacuated thrice already from a mall — because there were messages of hidden bombs) and there are no military people walking outside my room (although i live close enough to military academy, so i can hear them sing national anthem almost every morning) —
but my country is falling apart, my parents think that this is the right thing to do, we do have relatives in ukraine and half of the world thinks that every russian person supports the war and they must be shot on sight
what i'm trying to say is we should not be at each other’s throats right now; the more we fight, the less human we get
i didn't want this war, none of us did.

I'm feeling self indulgent, so I'll expand on 3 and actually talk about the wips; I'll fully admit that I probably like writing about my stories more than I like actually writing them most of the time. And I'm in a brain-full-of-bees kind of mood right now, which is unproductive. If you want to see any bits of these, feel free to ask.
Tarte Tatin (Parting Is All We Need of Heaven pt 3): This will get an appropriately pretentious Emily Dickinson quote for a title, don't worry. Garl solves problems with baking; Romaya yells a lot. I worry that this one is just too much of me info-dumping about curse headcanons while characters drink tea. I think the idea is very cool, but since it's not a sad character study or porn, I feel a little out of my element. I probably just need to make it entirely from Serai's pov and lean into the silliness.
All We Know of Hell (Parting pt 4): The working summary for this one is something like: "Resh'an should have known better than to forget this one, fundamental truth: glass is fragile." I've written all the bits that excite me, and the rest feels like a slog, plus I keepbwaffling on the ending. There are a lot of cool world building nuggets in this one, but apart from that it's really just an exercise in finding new and horrifying traumas to inflict on B'st, whoops. It's already spawned 2 side stories of weird B'st/Resh'an porn, and I keep working on those instead.
The 2 side stories of weird B'st/Resh'an porn: No genitalia directly involved, but these are absolutely just pwp smut. Surprisingly not vore, but one probably counts as inflation if you squint a little. I'm so far from finishing these that I haven't gotten to the point where I'm nervous about posting them, but I'm sure I'll work myself up into a panic when I do! (One of them is extremely cute, actually. The other one is very, very not cute, and B'st kind of enables some of Resh'an's more self-destructive tendencies in ways that aren't actually great for either of them. Whoops.)
Save Scumming (OtS pt 3): I'm actually kind of excited to finish this one now, although I do recognize that the content is going to make it a hard nope for a lot of people. (The worst of it will be clearly marked and easy to skip, and I have a whole essay's worth of thoughts about content warnings that'll probably end up in the notes- but even the consensual sex in this one is pretty fucking problematic.) I'm a little bit stuck on the ending, though, and it needs to be a little closer to done before I can start putting up chapters. This one has spawned 2 AUs/side stories:
No Happy Ending: this is Save Scum if it took place in the Parting universe and not Outshine the Sun. Bad things happen to Aephorul. There is, in fact, no happy ending. It's probably as close to being finished as it's going to get, which means it has neither a beginning nor a proper ending, and I'm probably never posting it to ao3.
Untitled oviposition smut: I cut the eggs out of Save Scum, because that felt like Too Much on top of everything else. I'm probably never posting/finishing this one, either, because it's too embarrassing. I'll save the eggs for Warhammer fic, probably; I have Ideas.
Outshine the Sun: this is the sweeping backstory epic. I've mostly only written a big chunk of the middle at this point, and I haven't touched it since March. The artbook might rekindle my inspiration, though. *continues obsessively refreshing my email for a shipping notification*
Boys of Summer (Aephorul/Resh'an college AU): Desperately needs a better title. I'm really tempted to just completely abandon any attempt at an intro for this one, because it's supposed to just be ridiculous porn. But this story in particular is also me exorcising a lot of feelings about being young and queer and closeted at home in the early 2000s; it's not any sort of sweeping social commentary by any means, but a lot of the stuff going on in the background is very personal to me. So, idk. It needs a lot of work still- it's missing some significant transitions, in addition to not having a beginning. But it might eventually turn into a whole series of its own with their college-age shenanigans. I need to figure out what their AIM handles should be.
All the other Modern AU stuff: the Aephorul/B'st/Resh'an things do all have a rough sequential order, which means I need to finish the first story before I can post the other ones. This annoys me a lot, because I'm not that interested in finishing the first story; half of it needs rewritten because it was originally going in an extremely angsty direction, and that's not what this AU is about. (Very rough timeline: the one where Resh'an gets fucked on a table while Aephorul watches (needs rewritten); the one where Aephorul gets double-teamed and fucked stupid in a hotel room (more or less done); relationship angst and negotiation (not done); inadvisable blowjobs and titfucking in semi-public places (mostly done, but I keep tacking on more bits); relationship fluff plus double penetration (nowhere near done). I think I will actually condense all of these into a single, multi-chapter fic instead of posting them as single stories.)
I Fuckin' Hate the Eagles, Man: sequel to Hotel California. Another drabble collection, with less angst this time. Kind of dead in the water, since I only have one new drabble half-written. Hoping the artbook will help with this, too.
Untitled Obyron/Zahndrekh necrontyr thing with love darts/alien biology: it's over 7500 words with no end in sight. I have to figure out how to write a battle scene??? Why did I do this to myself. Anyway, I love this story, but it's really 2 separate stories tacked together, and I might have to break it up to keep it sensible. I'm also aware that my characterization diverges a lot from the standard interpretations of these two, so I'm slightly nervous about the reception. They're not uwu fluffy husbands here; this is when they're both still young and not quite settled into their respective roles with each other and within necrontyr society in general. Zahndrekh ends up being a little bit of bastard, although from his perspective he's making a genuine effort not to be. The power differential is kind of the point, though; Obyron recognizes that he's basically chattel and does not entirely understand why Zahndrekh won't just treat him that way. There's a whole not-conversation that they have where Zahndrekh tries to explain that he doesn't want to take advantage of Obyron, and Obyron finds this a little baffling and frustrating.
The Barret/Cloud post-advent children thing: it's just fluff, and the weird machinations of Cloud's mind, and Tifa playing matchmaker. I'm very fond of Cloud's pov in this; Cloud is such a mess, but he's a self-aware mess at this point.
The teeny tiny fragment of Lysikor/Oltyx/Yenekh that is absolutely not titled "Death by Snu Snu": aka Lysikor's Extremely Horrible No Good Very Bad Day. Featuring reluctant flayer Lysikor and possibly asexual Oltyx, but I really haven't thought this one out past the point where Yenekh and Lysikor have nasty hate sex. I don't normally headcanon necrons as having actual genitalia analogues, but I feel like if any of them did, it would be the flayed ones. Much to think about!
Love is War: fourteen years! You cannot even begin to imagine how funny this is to me.
fic writer asks! #3, 27, 30?
3. How you feel about your current wip
Ooof, which one? I'm sort of in a frustrating point with all of my WIPs right now where none of them are nearly close enough to being done, and it sucks.
27. Favorite part of the writing process
That point where I'm still in love with an idea and actually feel confident in my ability to execute and finish the story. This usually hits right before I start getting impatient with how slowly I tend to write. (Honestly, though, my actual favorite part is finishing something and posting it to get feedback, and being able to interact with other people over my silly stories.)
30. Share a fic you're proud of
I'm still very much in love with A Light Exists In Spring, because I love the language in it so much, and I feel like I pulled off all the things I was trying to do with it. Of my older stuff, Virtus (Altair/Maria kink bingo crossdressing) is probably the one I'm proudest of today.
